Week 4

Mom (Mimi), Big Sister (Aunt Katie), and I had planned a little Spring Break trip to Naples, FL, which ended up falling just four days after we found out about Baby Batts...which meant I got to tell them in person! I was so excited, and went out and found two little picture frames for them, and framed a picture of my positive pregnancy test. Though we decided to hold off before telling anyone else, I had to tell Mom and Big...least of all because I couldn't partake in any fruity drinks...or too much sun! I could hardly contain myself on the drive from the airport to the hotel, but decided to wait until we got to our room, since breaking this news in public or a moving vehicle didn't seem like the best idea, given the expected reaction. Luckily my big burps (one of my earliest and most attractive pregnancy symptoms) wasn't enough for them to suspect anything. We finally got to our hotel room, and I pulled our their frames (wrapped in pink and blue) and told them it was a little surprise for the trip. They opened them up, saw the picture, and more tears and shock ensued. It was so exciting, and I was so grateful that I got to tell my two favorite ladies in the world in person. I hit the five week mark while we were in Florida, and appropriately, the baby is approximately the size of an orange seed at this point. Aside from the lovely burps, an intense need to eat at times, and a little fatigue, I was feeling pretty good this week. Baby and I were happy to be with Mom and Big Sister in the sweet, Florida sunshine...under an umbrella with my virgin-fruity drink, of course.
My little orange seed Is that a bump?
